Commuter parking moved to Blackham for game day
In preparation for Tuesday night’s football game against Arkansas State, the Office of Transportation Services has asked students parking at Cajun Field to remove their vehicles from the lot by 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20.
Tailgating and RV parking will begin once students have left.
On game day, commuting students will be asked to park in the lots around Blackham Coliseum, across from Our Lady of Fatima, instead of Cajun Field in order to minimize traffic congestion between students leaving the lot and those attending the game.
Officials said if needed, an overflow parking lot at St. Landry Street and St. Julien Avenue will be used.
The University will have shuttles running from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday. However, students who need to get to Blackham Coliseum after 5 p.m. will be able to use the Game Day shuttle.
Service to Bourgeois Hall will also continue on both days.
