SGA committees report
Four freshmen senators were sworn in to the Student Government Association, and committees and colleges gave longer reports in place of appropriations this week.
The Academics and Administration Committee announced the midterm survival table, which would have sold scantrons, pencils and energy drinks, was canceled. The committee will still set up a finals table.
The Athletics Committee said it will push back the “car slam” to basketball season.
In light of recent debate about the new appropriation process, the Rules and Ethics Committee announced it is forming an amendment to modify finance committee and appropriations procedures.
The college of arts is exploring ways to improve safety around Fletcher hall, and looked over STEP grants.
College of Business President Thomas Shuff said the college is up for reaccreditation and will be meeting with a accreditation committee.
Liberal arts is in the process of LSAT workshops.
Nursing announced its sidewalks are complete, and is now focusing on the picket fence behind Wharton hall and new water fountains.
The College of Sciences is looking into replacing outdated biology computers.
The SGA will not meet next week due to homecoming.
