Men’s basketball ends road struggle
After starting the season with eight straight road losses, the men’s basketball team ended their four-game road stretch with two dominant conference wins in Georgia this past weekend.
Their first road win came on Jan. 14 with a 74-65 win over Georgia Southern followed by an 87-54 win over Georgia State two days later. The two wins bring the Cajuns to a 7-8 overall record and a 3-3 conference record putting them as the lone team in fifth place in the Sun Belt Conference.
The Cajuns will play their next five games at home, with the first being this Thursday against South Alabama. Seven of their next eight games will be in the Cajundome.
The top four teams in the Sun Belt, at the end of the regular season, will have a chance to play for the conference championship in New Orleans beginning on Mar. 10. All 14 remaining regular season games for the Cajuns are conference games giving them a fair shot at being one of those four teams.
