Campus Crime June 6 – The Vermilion Reports
A gun was fired near the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Cade Farm. St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office was also notified.
The owner of a silver 2016 Lexus Rx3 reported his car was damaged, with a front window he stated was shattered by lawn mowers. The owner was parked in Cajun Field for a sporting event while the lawn was being mowed.
Devonta Walker, a 23-year-old black male, was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons for possession of marijuana in Legacy Park Apartments. Walker had admitted to smoking marijuana in his apartment, which alerted someone who had reported a smell of marijuana in the same apartment complex.
A resident at University Place Apartments reported her roommate allowed a guest into their apartment, whom she had a protective order against.
A UL Lafayette officer reported a flying drone over the Cajun Field Parking Area. The person flying the drone was told he wasn’t allowed to operate drones on UL Lafayette property.
A gray 2011 Toyota Camry and white 2004 Dodge Ram suffered a minor collision in the Cajun Field parking lot near Gate 4. Neither party was injured; however, the Camry sustained a medium-sized hole on the front bumper.
A John Deere Harlo hilo forklift’s wheel damaged the side slide out of an unoccupied parked Farber Mobile Command Bus in the Cajundome parking lot. The damage was reported as heavy; no injuries were reported.
A UL Lafayette student reported a stolen wallet he or she lost the day before in the Bourgeois Hall parking lot. The items stolen include a black leather wallet, $100 cash, a silver Jump Wings military pin, a Louisiana driver’s license and a U.S. Military ID.
A silver/aluminum 2015 Chevrolet Cruze was subject to a hit and run near Gate 4 at Cajun Field. The Chevy Cruze sustained a dent in the front bumper. The other vehicle was described as red with a trailer hitch. No injuries were reported.
