SGA announces interest meetings for spring election
John Blohm, vice president of university advancement, asked the Student Government Association to consider approving to name the pool at Bourgeois Hall after Margaret McMillan.
There will be three interest meetings for spring elections: Thursday, Jan. 26; Tuesday, Feb. 7 and Wednesday, Feb. 15. Meetings will be held at 5 p.m. in the Student Union. Applications will become available on Feb. 15.
The Senate also approved the Writ of Election for Spring 2017. The writ includes the date when the spring elections will take place. Vacancy interviews will be on Feb 3 at 1 p.m.
SGA Week is from March 20 through March 24. Campus Cleanup is on April 8.
SGA will now say the mission statement before each meeting after the pledge and prayer.
“I think it’s really important to go back to our roots and back to why SGA was created,” said Vice President Mary McMahon.
The Senate nominated Mary McMahon and Thomas Schumacher, treasurer, duke and maid for Krewe of Roux.
